Professionals Associated continues work on the O’Hare Modernization Project

Professionals Associated has been hired by Austin Power Partners to perform the surveying and layout for the Terminal 5 portion of the O’Hare 21 Project.

O’Hare 21 will be the largest terminal expansion in the history of the Airport. Terminal 5 will undergo a $1.2 billion expansion and renovation, including 350,000 square feet of new terminal space, ten new gates, and upgrades to the security checkpoints and baggage handling systems. Terminal 2 will be largely demolished and re-built to include a new International Arrivals facility. Renovations will also be made to Terminal 1. The overall expansion will increase the total square footage of the terminals by 60% – from 5.5 million square feet to 8.9 million square feet.

Professionals Associated has recently worked with Austin Power Partners on the O’Hare Consolidated Rental Car Facility (CONRAC).

Using our familiarity with the O’Hare survey monument system, Professionals Associated will be responsible for the layout of the new additions to the terminal building, new parking garage, re-configured roadways, and new and relocated utilities.

Projects at the airport are complex as they involve the need for coordination with multiple entities in order to ensure that the work is performed on schedule, while at the same time minimizing disruptions to airport operations and passengers. Because no work can be done without accurate surveying and layout being performed first, Professionals Associated has the added responsibility of ensuring accurate coordination of our work with all parties involved to maintain the tight scheduling necessary to complete the project on-time.
