Professionals Associated hired to continue Lakeshore East Development
Professionals Associated has been hired by Lend Lease Construction – one of the largest general contractors in the world – to continue construction of the Lakeshore East development.
Lakeshore East is bounded by Wacker Drive to the north, Columbus Drive to the west, Lake Shore Drive to the east, and East Randolph Street to the south. The entire development is a master plan developed by renowned Chicago architecture firm Skidmore, Owings, & Merrill, and features some of the tallest buildings in Chicago.
Professionals Associated will provide surveying and layout for the two newest buildings in the development: the Cirrus, a 47-story condominium, and the Cascade, a 37-story rental apartment building. Both are slated for completion in 2021.
Professionals Associated has enjoyed a successful business relationship with Lend Lease for 30 years.
Professionals has been tasked with establishing building control lines and benchmarks to control the initial positioning of the buildings. Once construction is underway Professionals will also be responsible for verification of the locations of the caissons used for the building foundation, establishing building control lines on each floor for all trades to use, and verification of the location of the building cores to ensure proper location and elevation.
